Simultaneous Interpreting

Simultaneous (U.N. Style) Interpreting

Simultaneous interpreting is necessary for global meetings and conferences where there are two or more languages being spoken.  Our conference interpreters are affiliated with organizations such as the International Association of Conference Interpreters (AIIC) and the American Association of Language Specialists (TAALS). Our stringent quality control standards require adherence to those in line with the United Nations and the U.S. State Department.

  • Interpreting equipment is necessary for simultaneous interpreting.  This equipment allows the interpreters, who are in a soundproof booth, to hear the speaker directly through headsets.  This set-up allows them to interpret simultaneously from one language into another.  In turn, the interpreted language is immediately transmitted out to audience members wearing receivers.

  • Simultaneous Interpreting requires two or more interpreters per language.
